Prayer & Meditation 10.25.26
Maintaining Your Spiritual Hunger
This week we introduced a new series examining spiritual practices and how to add them to the rhythms of our lives in order to develop and maintain our spiritual hunger.
We focused the message on Matt 5:6 looking at what it means to hunger and thirst for righteousness, how appetites are developed and lost, and why it seems that our appetite for the Lord can be so easily turned away. We talked about how our struggle with with flesh impacts us, and how spiritual practices can help.
In the coming weeks we will look at different spiritual practices and how we can apply them to the rhythms of our lives individually, corporately, and as families.
In preparation for this series, lets take time to meditate, fast, and pray on the following questions, letting the Lord speak to us and guide us.
1. How is my spiritual hunger? And how do I gauge it? What indicators would the Lord have me use?
2. What am I filling my time and thoughts with? And what do I look to for rest?
3. Do I regularly find myself filling my time with distractions and having little appetite for the scriptures and prayer?
4. What spiritual practices do I currently have in the rhythms of my life and what practices am I already aware I need to add to my life?
Share your thoughts and comments below as we come together as a community around these topics. And if you missed the message, a recording of it is attached below.
